Description
Piece # 120 "Northern Lights"
A Zoria's Creation. Krista DeSelms ©2011
This is a piece of Labradorite wrapped in round Argentium Sterling Silver. I made this piece for ~crystalwaterfall as an Art Crossing contest prize! She just received it and told me she loves it. I made this piece for her because her profile said how much she loved bright colors and labradorite is just teaming with colors
Labradorite is a feldspar mineral which occurs in large crystal masses in anorthosite rock and shows a beautiful array of colors. These colors are shown in a chatoyant way, an optical phenomenon in which the hue of the stone changes color or flash according to the angle from which the surface is viewed. Labradorite comes in all sorts of shades and colors; most common are blues, greens, golds, and oranges.
Argentium Sterling Silver is the highest quality of Sterling Silver available today and is highly tarnish resistant. Sterling Silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, Argentium is still the 92.5% silver but it replaces some of the copper with the element Germanium which gives it a higher tarnish resistance and less people are allergic to it than just normal Sterling Silver.
Yes, I do custom work.
